Urvi Patel
Licensed Social Worker (LSW)

I hold a Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago and am a licensed social worker in Illinois. I feel especially drawn to working with couples and families of color, helping them explore how cultural identities, family structures, and intergenerational patterns shape their interactions. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate communication, boundaries. and relational challenges.

I draw from attachment theory, family systems, and the Gottman Method (Level 1 completed, Level 2 in progress), integrating these approaches to help clients deepen connection, strengthen emotional safety, and develop practical tools for healthier, more resilient relationships. I am particularly interested in working with clients in transitional phases of life such as navigating arranged marriage contexts, multigenerational living, newfound parenthood, and family dynamics influenced by cultural traditions or generational expectations.

I aim to create a supportive environment where clients feel truly heard. We explore how past experiences and cultural influences shape relationships, and work toward building connection, understanding, and emotional safety that feels meaningful in daily life.
